Meet Iris Wingrove, MD

Owner and Founder of Optimize Neurology clinic.

Dr. Iris Wingrove trained under world-renowned neurologists at the Mayo Clinic — one of the most respected institutions in medicine — and brought that elevated standard of care home to Austin, Texas. She began her career in a traditional insurance-based model, only to realize the difficult barriers to delivering neurological care imposed by rushed appointments and consuming bureaucratic demands. With an innovative spirit, she founded the first Direct Neurology specialty practice in Central Texas in 2015, allowing her to return to time-based thoroughness required for problem-solving through the diagnostic process, empowering through education, and customizing treatment plans across a comprehensive spectrum of conditions.

What sets Dr. Wingrove apart is not just the caliber of her educational background, but how she practices. She approaches every patient with genuine curiosity, careful listening and review of past history and clues, as well as understanding future goals and concerns — an integrative perspective that considers the whole person — not just the presenting symptoms. She believes that getting neurology right takes time.

Her work is grounded in values she has carried throughout her life: a deep commitment to family, faith, education, and service to others. Those values show up in the way she advocates for her patients, explains complex diagnoses with clarity and compassion, and builds a care team and clinic environment where people feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.

Meet Mariah Denny, APRN

Your first step toward answers — and a direct line to Optimize Neurology care.

Mariah has been caring for patients with neurological conditions for over a decade, and for the past 3 years she has been an essential part of the Optimize Neurology team. She works closely and collaboratively with Dr. Wingrove — not separately from her.

When you book a new patient visit with Mariah, you're not waiting for neurological care. You're starting it. Mariah can order diagnostic workups, review your imaging, prescribe and adjust medications, and start building a treatment plan. And because she works hand-in-hand with Dr. Wingrove, your care is supported by a team-approach. Depending on the clinical picture, Mariah can often get you onto Dr. Wingrove's follow up schedule sooner than a direct new patient appointment would have allowed!

Mariah does have an interest in treating headache that goes beyond her training—as someone who experiences chronic migraine herself, she has an intimate understanding of the impact migraine has on day-to-day life, and believes good management strategies, education, and compassionate support from an experienced professional can go a long way towards improvement.

Training & Background

Mariah Denny has over 10 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Neurology.

Special clinical interest: Headache & Chronic Migraine She loves helping customize a management toolbox for patients that includes lifestyle modifications, pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical options, and is able to offer her experience with skilled training in providing FDA-approved medical Botox injections for head and neck.

Meet Our Clinic Staff

This team of dedicated women keep Optimize Neurology running as smoothly as possible!

Our staff works tirelessly behind the scenes — scheduling appointments, relaying messages, sending out order forms, and tracking down results. When treatments require coordination for infusions and care monitoring, they help simplify the process. When insurance companies say no, our team goes the other mile to navigate the prior authorization process, fight denials, and pursue appeals when possible to get a better chance to get the treatments and prescriptions Dr. Wingrove and Mariah have recommended.

It is serious, detail-oriented work — and they do it with warmth, relatability, and helpful attitudes.

We are proud of the team we have built, and we think you will feel the difference it makes in your care.
